It all began with a visit to Miss Pixie's Furnishings & Whatnot, a great vintage store on 14th Street in Washington, D.C. I discovered some crumbling old envelopes, and as I turned them over in my hands I wondered how they might look as greeting cards. They turned out to be pretty neat! I now look for vintage envelopes wherever I travel, and have found some great ones in the Shenandoah Valley, New York, and online.
The original envelope had lots of fun details that I kept when I created this card; the 1943 Richmond postmark, the red "Special Delivery" label, the handwritten double underlined "Rush!", and the Special Delivery stamp make this card lots of fun to give and receive.
Digitally printed, originally created from a vintage envelope. Card size 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 in., printed on heavy stock. Blank inside.
